La Mancellière is a beautiful 17th century farmhouse in the picturesque Manche region of Lower Normandy, close to the Loire Valley and Brittany. The house has been restored to a very high standard and is divided into two spacious, self-contained gites: the Farmhouse and the Villa.

La Mancellière is the perfect place to explore historic Normandy, relax on the beaches of Brittany or indulge in the chateaux and wine regions of the Loire. Head west from the property and you reach secluded sandy beaches, the smart seaside resorts of Jullouville and Dinard and the magical island of Mont Saint Michel. Directly north will take you to the hill town of Mortain with its eerie white abbey and spectacular waterfalls. To the east lies picture-perfect Domfront complete with medieval timber-framed houses and winding cobbled streets. South leads you through lush, fern-rich forests to the pretty villages and valleys of the Loire. We also have plenty of activities in the immediate local area including one of the biggest weekly markets in Normandy, excellent river fishing, horse-riding and rambling and cycle tracks with routes out to the coast.

But if that sounds a bit strenuous and all you want is a bit of rest and relaxation, La Mancellière is the ideal spot to kick back, stretch out in the garden and enjoy the summer sun or curl up with a book by the log fire for a snug winter’s afternoon.

Both gites have tons of original features including a huge wood-burning inglenook fireplace in the Farmhouse, polished chestnut floors and exposed oak beams. La Mancellière is surrounded by rolling countryside and is set amid two acres of private land with its own orchard, paddock and landscaped gardens for you to enjoy. We are open all year round for self-catering holidays and short breaks and we can accommodate up to 14 people in the Farmhouse and 6 people in the Villa, including babies. However, we do cater for all parties, no matter how small.
